Kamalanagar, July 19, 2018: In a tragic incident, veteran political leader, Dg. Pranab Kumar Chakma, Member of District Council, Chakma Autonomous District Council died of cardiac arrest last night at about 12:15 am. He was 58 years. Family members confirmed that he was all fine and had no health related issues.
He was elected MDC for the fourth time from Ugudasury βSβ MDC Constituency in the recently held 10th CADC General Election, sponsored by the MNF party.
His political career spans over 30 years and was elected as MDC four times. He contested for the first time in 1988 with INC ticket and become Executive Member of 4th CADC. He again won in 1998 with INC ticket and later switched party to join the MNF. Under the sponsorship of the MNF party he won two terms in 2003 and 2018.
He is survived by his five daughters three of whom are married and two are still studying. He was born to (L) Shri Rameshya Chakma and (L) Smt. Janjali Chakma.
In mourning the tragic loss CADC has declared holidays for two days. The mortal remain will be cremated tommorow.
