Kamalanagar, 16 December:Β Dangu Dr. B.D. Chakma, the incumbent CEM, CADC who has contested in the Mizoram Assembly Election 2013 from 36-Tuichawng Assembly Constituency was elected defeating his rival Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma by a margin of more than 7,000 votes.
Dangu Dr. B. D. Chakmaβs candidature was finalized after the verdict of Honβble Gauhati High Court clearing his eligibility. Earlier, his eligibility was in question on the ground that he already holds office of profit being the CEM, CADC.
Pu Lalthanhawla who was sworn as Chief Minister, Mizoram after the election included him in his 11-member council of Minister as Minister of State. He has been entrusted with the Department of Sericulture and Fishery.
