Borapansury, 4 March 2017: Five families were rendered homeless in a fire accident of Bazar area of Borapansury. Nothing could be salvaged out of the raging inferno. Properties worth some 50 Lakhs were destroyed and turned to ashes. However, no lose of life was reported. Two of the victims had businesses, one dealing in drugs and another in hardware.The incident occurred at about 6 pm on the fateful evening of 4th March. The accident is suspected to have originated from a power short circuit.

The houses belonged to Dgb. Bijoy Laxmi Chakma, Dg. Khudiram Chakma, Dg. Raju Chakma, .Dg. Subir Kanti Chakma and Dgb. Chandra Prava Chakma.
Pu. K. Zorammuana, SDO(Civil) visited the site of accident and met the victims. Properties damaged were assessed. He assured the victims of relief assistance.
