Kamalanagar, January 22: Dangu Buddha Lila Chakma was sworn-in today as the new Chief Executive Member of Chakma Autonomous District Council. The wait is finally over. CADC has been without a Chief since the outgoing CEM Dangu Dr. Buddha Dhan Chakma had to resign on 7th January after he got elected as MLA, Mizoram in the last General Assembly Election held in November last year.

The Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai Pu Hmingthanmawia administered the oath of office and secrecy in a ceremony held in the CADC Art & Culture Hall.

This is the third consecutive term as member of the District Council for Dangu Buddha Lila Chakma. He contests from the 13-Vaseitlang MDC Constituency. In the last Executive Committee under Dangu Dr. B.D. Chakma he was in-charge of Land Revenue and Settlement, Law & Judicial and Local Administration. He is the youngest of the existing members.

In his address as the new CEM, he said black topping of Kamalanagar town road shall be undertaken at the earliest out of fund under Medernization of Kamalanagar Town. It will be his priority to provide for administrative training for the Councilors and Officials. In the interest of the youth he has pledged to introduce Annual Sport Meet. He expressed that he feels proud to have born a Chakma for it is underdeveloped which gives scope to work for its betterment. He urged all the Chakma youths who feel unfortunate for being a Chakma to grow a similar feeling of pride to work for their community.
