Pranab Kumar Chakma
Kamalanagar, July 19, 2018: In a tragic incident, veteran political leader, Dg. Pranab Kumar Chakma, Member of District Council, Chakma Autonomous District Council died of cardiac arrest last night at about 12:15 am. He was 58 years. Family members confirmed that he was all fine and had no health related issues.
He was elected MDC for the fourth time from Ugudasury βSβ MDC Constituency in the recently held 10th CADC General Election, sponsored by the MNF party.
Kamalanagar, June 26, 2018: In a new development Dg. Kali Kumar Tongchangya who was declared MDC uncontested by the Returning Officer of the CADC General Electionβ 2018 held in the month of April and subsequently stayed by the Guwahati High Court, Aizawl Bench took oath as MDC today following vacation of its interim order and dismissal of the writ petition against the declaration of the Returning Officer.
Kamalanagar, May 21, 2018: The CADC Budget for the fiscal year 2018-19 for an amount of Rs.86.5916 Crores which was tabled on May 17, was discussed and passed today by 17 Members voting in favour while one Member (of the MNF party) voting against.

In exercise of the of the powers conferred by Rule 30 of Chakma Autonomous District Council (Constitution & Conduct of Business) Rules, 2002, and in partial modification or the notification issued of even number dt. 17/05/2018, Shri Mohan Chakma, Executive Member, Chakma Autonomous District Council will assist the Hon’ble Chief Executive Member to look after the Land Revenue & Settlement Department with immediate effect and others will remain unchanged.

Hiranand Tongchangya, MDC, 16-Damdep, Dgb. Kusum Lota Chakma, MDC, 2-Borapansury-II, Dg. Sanjeev Chakma, MDC, 7-Kamalanagar βWβ, Dg. Mohan Chakma, MDC, 20-Parva, Dg. Buban Kumar Chakma, MDC, 19-Devasora βSβ and Dg. Onish Moy Chakma, MDC, 10-Mondirasora. Subjects and departments are yet to be allotted to the newly sworn-in Executive Members.

Kamalanagar, May 4, 2018: The BJP led United Legislature Party (ULP), formed jointly by the elected Members of 10th CADC belonging to the BJP and INC party, who staked claim to form the new government in CADC following the 10th CADC General Election, formally took charge today with the swearing-in of its leader Dg. Shanti Jiban Chakma as the new Chief Executive Member. Dg. Shanti Jiban Chakma has won from the 3-Chhotapansury MDC Constituency with BJP ticket.

Kamalanagar, 24 September 2016: The Gauhati High Court Aizawl Bench, in its Judgment dated 31.08.2016 over the W.P.(C) No.109 of 2015, while dismissing the writ petition filed by the BJP Village Council members of Baganpara on the ground that there was no challenge to the Chakma Autonomous District Council (Village Council) Act 2003 expressed opinion that the concerned authority should have a re-look into the provision of the CADC (Village Council) Act, 2003 with regards to the voting rights of the Nominated Members for election /selection of the President/Vice-President of the Village Councils.
