2nd Phase NLUP Assistance Distributed in CADC

Kamalanagar, August 7: As many as 933 NLUP beneficiaries within Tuichawng cluster, with trade selection under Vety and Animal Husbandry, Industry, Fishery and Agriculture received assistance today in a programme held at the Art & Culture Hall of CADC, Kamalanagar. It was their second installment under the second phase of the programme.

 

The programme was graced by the Hon’ble local area MLA Dangu Nirupam Chakma as its Chief Guest who said that Tuichawng cluster has the highest number of beneficiaries under the programme with as many as 5491 families covered under it. Under the 3rd phase as many as 750 families shall start receiving assistance by September this year, he told. He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the assistance being given to them to make themselves self sufficient. While it shall be the endevour of their Government in the next term if voted to power, he said, to create marketing opportunities for the beneficiaries. He said it will be a challenge for the Government of Mizoram to make NLUP a model to be emulated in rest of India.

The programme of NLUP has been conceived by the current Congress led Government of Mizoram targeting the economically downtrodden section of the society to fight and eradicate poverty and give the people sustainable source of livelihood. The programme shall cover as many as 1.35 lakh families which shall involve about Rs.2,800.00 Crores.
