Kamalanagar, June 1:The hon’ble Chief Executive Member, Chakma Autonomous District Council Dr. Buddha Dhan Chakma inaugurated the office building of District Council Conservator of Forest, CADC at kamalanagar today.

The construction of the building was sanctioned under 13th Finance Commission during 2011-12. The estimated cost of the building is about Rs.10.00 lakh as told by the DCCF, CADC in his brief report on the construction.

On the occasion the Forest Department organized a session for planting of seedlings around the office boundary which was set off by the hon’ble CEM.

The physician turned politician Dangu Dr. B. D. Chakma, Hon’ble CEM, CADC on the occasion spoke on the science of global warming and its link to our inability to protect our forest. One of his priorities, he said, shall be to rejuvenate and restore the lost forest cover under CADC. He also referred to the scarcity of water sources within CADC area being a consequence of rampant deforestation.
