π²ππππππππππ, π±πππ 23, 2026: The Hon’ble Chief Executive Member (CEM), Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), Dg. Nirupam Chakma, called on Dr. Kenneth Chawngliana, Vice-Chairman, Mizoram State Planning Board, in Aizawl today and discussed a number of development projects of the Council along with other development-related issues.


The CEM requested that the proposals for Improvement of Education Infrastructure in CADC (Rs.499.87 lakh) under the North Eastern Council (NEC), Development of School Infrastructure in CADC (Rs.1,583.064 lakh) under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS), and Development of Fish Farms with Fishery-Based Integrated System (Rs.447.00 lakh) under NEC be retained in the State priority list. He informed Dr. Chawngliana that officers of the concerned departments had recently presented these proposals before the Planning & Programme Implementation Department, Government of Mizoram. Dr. Chawngliana assured the CEM that he would take up the matter with the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
The CEM also submitted a proposal titled βIndustry 4.0 Based 3D Dental Solutionsβ for consideration under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER). He sought his help for early approval of the project proposal already submitted for furnishing the CADC Studentsβ Hostel at Aizawl, constructed under the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR), to enable the hostel to be made functional. The need for early completion of the partially completed CADC Secretariat Building, whose final instalment under the 13th Finance Commission had lapsed, was also discussed.


Later, the CEM met Pu C. Lalsawivunga, Minister i/c, Department of District Council & Minority Affairs (DC&MA), and senior officials of the department to discuss various administrative matters of CADC. The matter of a number of bills passed by CADC since 2016 that are pending with the Mizoram Government for assent was raised for disposal at the earliest. The recommendations for appointment of all the eight Executive Members were also submitted to the Secretary, DCMA, Pi Maria C.T. Zuali, IAS, for onward processing for approval by His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram.
