Rajnath Singhโ€™s Parva Visit Cancelled

Kamalanagar, 14 June, 2017: Incessant rain and bad weather forced cancellation of Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singhโ€™s visit to Parva village on 13th June.
It would have been his maiden visit to CADC. District administration officials including the DC, SP, Sr. Medical Officer, EE (PHE), SDO (P&E), SDO (C), Chawngte and District Project Coordinator (SSA) with their subordinate staff reached Parva on 11 June amidst heavy and incessant rain. Some 20 vehicles of the civil administration and of the arm forces who were heading to Parva to attend the programme got stuck on the stretch of road between Devasora โ€˜Sโ€™ and Parva. Land slide and slippery road made it impossible for any vehicle to pass. The land removers put into service were of no help.

Official team representing CADC reached Devasora โ€™Sโ€™ on the same day and camped there apprehending road blockade due to landslide.

Members of the CDBJP also reached the venue taking help of local motor boat from Devasora โ€˜Sโ€™.
Hundreds of Assam Riffle personnel and some personnel of National Security Guard got stranded at Parva and Devasora โ€™Sโ€™ respectively due to landslide and submersion of some portions of the road.

With the rains taking no respite the DC with his team of officials took local motor boats from Parva to Longpuighat. On the way she visited the schools at Parva and Devasora โ€˜Sโ€™. The school at Parva was in bad shape with the porous roof giving in to the rains. The VCP of Devasora โ€˜Sโ€™ submitted a petition to the DC while demanding adequate teachers for the Comprehensive MS of the village. The school is presently run by only 4 teachers, 3 of whom are matriculate and one 10+2. There are no teachers for the Middle Section. The VCP reportedly urged the District Project Coordinator, SSA Lawngtlai District who halted at Devasora โ€˜Sโ€™ to either make the RMSA High School functional or take away the building constructed for the purpose.
