Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, MLA and CEM, CADC inspects progress of Water Treatment Plant under construction at Sadarasuk

Kamalanagar, 19 December 2023: Member of Legislative Assembly, 36-Tuichawng Assembly Constituency, Mizoram, and Chief Executive Member, CADC, Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, led a team of Executive Committee Members, MDCs and officials from PHE Department to the site of the Water Treatment Plant being constructed under the Chawngte Rural Drinking Water Supply Scheme at Sadarasuk on Monday. The purpose of the visit was to assess the current status of the project, which is expected to significantly improve the water supply in the Chawngte area. He was also accompanied by Dg. Nirupam Chakma, MDC and a prominent leader representing the opposition benches in the council.

During the inspection, the team meticulously examined various components of the water treatment plant, including the infiltration gallery, pump house, filter and chemical house, and reservoir. Dg. A. Bindulal Chakma, Junior Engineer from the PHE Chawngte Section, provided detailed technical explanations of the infrastructure and their respective functions. Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma expressed his satisfaction with the progress made on the project.

The Chawngte Rural Drinking Water Supply Scheme is a significant initiative undertaken by the CADC authority under the leadership of Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma and implemented by Public Health Engineering Department, Government of Mizoram with fund provision from National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The project, initiated in January 2021 at a cost of Rs. 9 Crore, is on track for completion in March 2024. Once operational, the facility is expected to significantly alleviate the long-standing water crisis faced by residents of Kamalanagar town, including the Chawngte area. It will have the capacity to supply water to the residents for a minimum of 12 hours a day. The project also includes providing free water connections to the uncovered areas of Kamalanagar and Chawngte.

Earlier on the day, CEM Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma and his team visited the designated site for an education and community development project at Kamalanagar-VI. The land, donated by Dg. Birendra Bijoy Chakma of Kamalanagar-I, had been chosen for the establishment of a Middle School, an Anganwadi Center, and a Village Council House. Earth cutting and leveling of the site has already been completed.

Allocation of portfolios to the Executive Members of CADC

In exercise of powers conferred under Rule 30 of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (Constitution, Conduct of Business etc.) Rules, 2002 and as amended from time to time, the Chief Executive Member of Chakma Autonomous District Council is pleased to allocate the portfolios among the members of the Executive Committee of the 11th Chakma Autonomous District Council as shown below with immediate effect.

Training given to ASHA/Health worker at Kamalanagar for enrolment under Mizoram Health Care Scheme

Kamalanagar, 30 September, 2020:    The Community Health Centre, Chawngte today organised training for the ASHA and Health Workers of Chakma Autonomous District Council area for enrolment under Mizoram State Health Care Scheme. The ASHAs and health workers have been urged to aggressively campaign for a universal enrolment.

The training programme was held in the Conference Hall of CADC Rest House, Kamalanagar which was conducted by DR. Vantea , MO   (State health care society) in the presence of Dr. H. Thangliana, Medical Officer, CHC, Chawngte. 

The Mizoram State Health Care Scheme is a health insurance scheme implemented by the Mizoram State Health Care Society, Government of Mizoram since 2008. Under the scheme a beneficiary can claim medical expenses for reimbursement upto Rs.2 Lakh. The scheme covers almost all the illnesses including referral cases, pre-existing conditions and ailments, maternity and there is no age restriction. 

The policy card remains valid for one year which can be renewed every year. Enrolment for the upcoming period w.e.f 1st October, 2020 to 30th September, 2021 shall start from September 2020 till 31st December, 2020. The existing policy card holders of 2019-2020 shall have to renew their cards before 31st December, 2020. 

All AAY and BPL family ration card holders are eligible for availing the benefit of the scheme. APL family ration card holders who cannot avail MR Bill from the government are also eligible for the scheme. The Golden card holders under AB-PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) can also enroll for the scheme.

The BPL card holders can enroll against payment of just Rs.100 while the APL card holders need to enroll for Rs.1000.

SDO(C), Chawngte calls meeting on implementation of the Mizoram (Containment and Prevention of Covid-19) Ordinance, 2020

Kamalanagar, 04 May, 2020: Pu S. Kaptluanga, SDO(C), Chawngte in a meeting attended by representatives of CADC, Health Department, Police Department, Intelligence Department, local NGO leaders and VLTFs of Kamalanagar town area and Chawngte area called for implementation of the Mizoram (Containment and Prevention of Covid-19) Ordinance, 2020. The meeting also discussed restriction/prohibition to be observed during the 3rd stage lockdown announced by the government.

Mizoram Epidemic Diseases (Covid-19) Regulations 2020

In the interest of public health and safety and in excercise of the powers conferred under Section 2, 3 & 4 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 (Central Act 3 of 1897), the Government of Mizoram is pleased to issue the following temporary regulations for prevention and containment of COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease-2019).

The Mizoram (Containment and Prevention of Covid-19) Ordinance, 2020

To contain and prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State of Mizoram and matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.

WHEREAS the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram is not in session, and the Governor of Mizoram is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 213 of the Constitution, the Governor of Mizoram is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance,
