A sanction not exceeding to Rs.112.50 lakh is hereby accorded by Pu Donny Lalruatsanga, Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai and Caretaker, CADC in respect of horticulture department, CADC being payment of financial assistance to farmers of broomstick garden as per the selection list of the Beneficiary Selection Committee of horticulture department, CADC which is appended herewith in ANNEXURE-I.
The above expenditure shall be debitable out of 3rd & 4th Quarter of GIA-Genl. (Non-Salary) during the financial year, 2025-2026 under Horticulture Department against the head of “Financial Assistance to Farmers of broom stick gardens and other horticultural gardens”
Kamalanagar, 27th March 2026: The Law & Judicial Department, Chakma Autonomous District Council, organized a program today at Kamalanagar for the formal release of the “Compilation of Court Records from 1972-2025.” The event was presided over by Dg. Bhanu Dhan Chakma, CP&R, who welcomed the officials and public gathered for the occasion. The program began with an opening song by the Art & Culture Department, followed by the felicitation of the invited guests.
Dg. Pronit Bikash Chakma, Executive Secretary, CADC, attended the function as the Chief Guest and officially released the book. During his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of documenting these judicial records for the administrative record-keeping of the Council.
Speaking on the occasion, the Guests of Honour, Dg. Digambar Chakma and Dg. Hriday Chakma, both former CP&R of CADC, shared their perspectives on the legal history of the department. Dg. Digambar Chakma explained the original idea and the necessity behind the compilation of these records, while Dg. Hriday Chakma spoke on the need for changing and updating the Chakma Customary Laws to align with the current needs of the society.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dg. Mrinal Kanti Chakma, J.O., Law & Judicial Department, and a closing song by the Art & Culture Department.
The Horticulture Department of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) has notified the official guidelines and selection criteria for the “Financial Assistance to Farmers of Broomstick Gardens” scheme. Issued on March 18, 2026, following approval from the Deputy Commissioner of Lawngtlai, this initiative implements a directive from the Governorโs Secretariat to support local cultivators.
Beneficiary Selection: Priority is given to low-income households (BPL), women farmers, and residents of areas suitable for broom grass cultivation. Applicants must commit to sustainable harvesting practices without using harmful chemicals.
Application Procedure: Interested farmers must submit applications to the District Council Horticulture Officer, including a passport photo, Aadhaar card, Voter ID, and bank passbook. All applications require a formal recommendation and meeting minutes from the respective Village Council Executive Body.
Verification and Oversight: The Horticulture Department will conduct field verifications after the disbursement of financial assistance to ensure the funds are used according to the established guidelines.
The District School Education Board (DSEB) of the Chakma Autonomous District Council has officially declared the results for the Common Question Examination 2025 โ 2026 for Class-IV and Class-VIII. These examinations were conducted between February 2nd and February 11th, 2026, across various schools within the council’s jurisdiction.
Headmasters and Headmistresses of recognized schools can collect the Result Book from the DSEB office starting Monday, March 9th, 2026, during regular office hours.
Due to technical reasons, the results for Parva-II UPS for both classes are currently withheld but are scheduled for publication on or before March 31st, 2026.
Students may apply for re-checking in up to three subjects by submitting an application on plain paper within 15 days of the result publication, accompanied by a fee of Rs. 200 per subject.
The Beneficiary Selection Committee of the Industry Department has completed its review of applications for free composite sewing machines for the 2025-2026 financial year. Based on the resolutions adopted on February 24, 2026, the department has shortlisted 75 eligible candidates to proceed to a mandatory screening test as notified below.
Tests will be conducted in two phases at the Industry Department office starting at 10:00 AM, with candidates 1-38 scheduled for March 5 and candidates 39-75 scheduled for March 6, 2026. All selected individuals are required to bring a Voter ID or Aadhaar Card, along with their own scissors and measuring tape, on their assigned test date.
Kamalanagar, 29 January, 2026: The District School Education Board (DSEB), Chakma Autonomous District Council, conducted a one-day training programme for Exam Superintendents in connection with the forthcoming Primary and Middle School Common Examinations today at the CADC Rest House Conference Hall, Kamalanagar.
The training programme was chaired by the President of the Board, Shri Anand Kumar Chakma, and attended by other officials. A total of 38 Exam Superintendents, appointed for 38 examination centres attended the programme.
During the session, the participants were briefed on examination-related rules and procedures, as well as their duties and responsibilities, with a view to ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of the board examinations.
The training was conducted by Resource Persons appointed by the Board. The Common Examination, 2025 โ 2026 is scheduled to be held from 2nd February to 11th February, 2026.
Kamalanagar, 26 January 2026 : The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with due solemnity at the premises of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) Secretariat, Kamalanagar, today.
Shri Sundor Muni Chakma, Honโble Deputy Chairman, Chakma Autonomous District Council, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and unfurled the national flag in the presence of officers and staff of the CADC, invited guests, and other dignitaries.
In his address, the Honโble Deputy Chairman highlighted the significance of the Constitution of India and recalled the contributions of the freedom fighters and the framers of the Constitution. He stated that autonomous institutions such as the Chakma Autonomous District Council exist due to the provisions of the Constitution, particularly the Sixth Schedule, which safeguards the social, cultural, and administrative interests of tribal and minority communities.
He highlighted the major activities undertaken by the CADC during 2025โ2026, including the organisation of school-level and zonal sports, distribution of sports materials, teacher training programmes, and literacy survey. He also referred to financial assistance provided to farmers, distribution of sewing machines for skill development, implementation of social welfare schemes, plantation programmes, strengthening of forest administration, promotion of sports, improvement of office infrastructure, and execution of public works to ensure connectivity and public safety. The Honโble Deputy Chairman called upon all concerned to uphold constitutional values and serve the people with sincerity and accountability.
The district administration also organised a celebration programme at the Kamalanagar Football Playground. Pu Lalnunpuia Renthlei, MCS, Sub-Divisional Officer (C) and Block Development Officer, Chawngte, unfurled the national flag as the Chief Guest. The programme was attended by MLA Shri Rasik Mohan Chakma, former MLA Shri Buddha Dhan Chakma, Members of the District Council, officers of the Chakma Autonomous District Council, and other local leaders.
In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of constitutional values, citizensโ responsibility, and public service in strengthening democratic governance. He referred to recent improvements in connectivity, education, health services, and rural development under various government schemes implemented in the area.
He also highlighted developmental achievements under Chawngte Sub-Division, including progress under the Mizoram State Rural Livelihoods Mission, implementation of MGNREGA through generation of wage employment and creation of rural assets, strengthening of health services at the Community Health Centre, Chawngte, expansion of ICDS services through Anganwadi Centres, infrastructure development and academic achievements of EMRS, Chawngte, and public works undertaken by the State Public Works Department. He further referred to the implementation of food security schemes under the National Food Security Act and the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in the Chawngte area, ensuring the distribution of rice to eligible beneficiaries.
Three NCC units and seven schools participated in the march past. Special cultural items were presented by the Art & Culture Department, CADC, Branch YMA Chawngte-L, and Branch YMA Chawngte-P. The Chief Guest also visited the Community Health Centre, Chawngte, where he distributed gifts to the patients.
Kamalanagar, 21 January 2026 : The Adult Education Department of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) has completed a comprehensive literacy survey covering all 88 Village Councils under its jurisdiction from October 2025 to January 2026.
The survey collected data under two age groups, namely 7 to 14 years and 15 years and above. The exercise was carried out with the cooperation and support of Headmasters of various schools and representatives of local Non-Government Organisations. Based on the data collected, the overall literacy rate of the Chakma Autonomous District Council has been assessed at 61.03 per cent.
This survey is the first comprehensive literacy assessment conducted by the Adult Education Department of the Chakma Autonomous District Council. On the basis of the survey findings, the Department has prepared the Literacy Chart of the Chakma Autonomous District Council, 2026.
The Literacy Chart was officially unveiled by Shri Pronit Bikash Chakma, Executive Secretary, Chakma Autonomous District Council, today at Kamalanagar, in the presence of officers, representatives of Non-Government Organisations, and staff of the Chakma Autonomous District Council. In addition to the survey, the Adult Education Department also conducted literacy awareness campaigns in selected villages under the CADC to sensitise the public on the importance of education and lifelong learning.
Established in 1996, the Adult Education Department of the CADC has been working towards improving literacy and educational awareness in the CADC area. Shri Krishna Kumar Chakma, District Adult Education Officer, CADC, has expressed his gratitude to the School Headmasters and local Non-Government Organisations for their cooperation in the successful completion of the survey.
The General Administration & Control Department of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) has reiterated instructions for strict compliance regarding office attendance. This notification follows a decision taken during the Heads of Departments meeting held on January 16, 2026, to enforce administrative discipline across all departments.
All officers and staff must attend office regularly during prescribed hours, as unauthorized absence or late arrivals will be recorded and may lead to disciplinary action. Heads of Departments are required to submit a consolidated monthly attendance report using a specific proforma by the first week of every following month. All personnel are directed to follow these instructions in letter and spirit, with any delay in report submission being viewed as a lapse in duty
