NCST Member Shri Jatothu Hussain Calls on CADC CEM Shri Nirupam Chakma

New Delhi, 3 September 2026:Honโ€™ble Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), Shri Jatothu Hussain, called on the Honโ€™ble Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), Shri Nirupam Chakma, at Mizoram House, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

During the meeting, Shri Jatothu Hussain and Shri Nirupam Chakma held detailed discussions on various issues concerning the welfare, development and constitutional safeguards of the Scheduled Tribes. They exchanged views on matters relating to the effective implementation of the provisions of the Fifth and Sixth Schedules of the Constitution and the need to strengthen institutional mechanisms for protecting the rights and interests of Scheduled Tribal communities.

The two leaders also discussed issues affecting Scheduled Tribes in different parts of the country, particularly those relating to socio-economic development, education, employment, livelihood opportunities and access to government schemes and programmes.

Shri Nirupam Chakma expressed his appreciation to Shri Jatothu Hussain for his continued efforts towards safeguarding the constitutional rights and interests of Scheduled Tribes. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening coordination among institutions working for the welfare and advancement of Scheduled Tribes.

The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to the welfare, development and empowerment of Scheduled Tribes.
