Kamalanagar, August 6, 2026: A delegation of the Kamalanagar Private Schools Association (KPSA), led by its President, Dg. Nirvan Chakma, called on the Executive Member of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) in-charge of Primary & Middle School, Adult Education and District School Education Board (DSEB), Dg. Doymoy Daveng Chakma, on Thursday and submitted a memorandum concerning certain issues relating to private schools affiliated with the DSEB.
The memorandum sought intervention regarding the implementation of Notification No. 29/STBC/Vol-1/DSEB/2026-2027/541/150 dated 5th May, 2026, which introduced uniform common question papers for Classes III, V, VI and VIII from the current academic session. The Association stated that the notification was issued after the commencement of the academic session and requested that private schools be exempted from its implementation for the current session.
The Association also stated that its member schools have been using privately published textbooks aligned with the NCERT syllabus for several years. It requested written permission to continue using the existing textbooks during the current academic session and sought permanent recognition of such textbooks, subject to the approval of the competent authority.
The memorandum further raised issues relating to the participation of private school teachers in DSEB examination invigilation duties and requested restoration of the earlier practice under which teachers from both government and private schools were engaged as invigilators. It also sought representation of private schools in the core committee and subordinate committees of the DSEB.
The Executive Member, Dg. Doymoy Daveng Chakma, received the memorandum and assured the delegation that the matters raised would be examined in accordance with the relevant rules and procedures.
The Chief Executive Member, Dg. Nirupam Chakma, stated that the Council Government attaches importance to the development of education and is committed to maintaining constructive engagement with all stakeholders. He said that the concerns would receive due consideration in the interest of students and the education system.
