Kamalanagar, 5 August 2026: Eight newly appointed Executive Members of the 11th Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) took the Oath of Affirmation of Office today at the CADC Art & Culture Hall, Kamalanagar. The oath was administered by Pu Lalnunpuia Renthlei, MCS, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Chawngte, who had been delegated for the purpose by the Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai District.
The Executive Members were appointed by the Governor of Mizoram on the recommendation of the Chief Executive Member, Chakma Autonomous District Council, with effect from 30 July 2026. With the swearing-in of the eight Executive Members, the Executive Committee of the 11th Chakma Autonomous District Council has been constituted in full.
The following elected Members of District Council took the Oath of Affirmation of Office as Executive Members:
- Shri Ajoy Kumar Chakma, MDC, 8-Udalthana
- Shri Doymoy Daveng Chakma, MDC, 15-Rengkashya
- Shri Supreme Raj Chakma, MDC, 3-Chhotapansury
- Shri Montu Chakma, MDC, 19-Devasora South
- Shri Ananta Bikash Chakma, MDC, 14-Longpuighat
- Shri Santosh Chakma, MDC, 11-Ajasora
- Shri Dinesh Moy Chakma, MDC, 7-Kamalanagar West
- Shri Lakkhan Chakma, MDC, 17-Jaruldubasora
The ceremony was attended by the Hon’ble Chief Executive Member, the Chairman of the Chakma Autonomous District Council, Members of District Council, former Councillors, senior officers of the Council and other invited guests.
Speaking at the gathering, Honโble Chief Executive Member (CEM), Dg. Nirupam Chakma, congratulated the newly sworn-in Executive Members and called upon them to discharge their responsibilities without fear or favour in accordance with the Constitution of India. He also expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram and the Honโble Minister for District Council & Minority Affairs for appointing the Executive Members on his recommendation.
He said that although only about one and a half years remained in the tenure of the 11th Chakma Autonomous District Council, there was still scope to achieve meaningful progress if there was the will to work. He said that the past differences should be set aside and that it was time to begin a new chapter in the interest of the Council and its people. Referring to the priorities of the new Executive Committee, he said that its foremost responsibility would be to take forward the implementation of the CADC Development Plan which was submitted to His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram recently.
