CADC CEM Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma loses Confidence Motion in First Sitting of Winter Session

Kamalanagar, December 11, 2024: Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma was removed from office of the Chief Executive Member, CADC, through a No-Confidence Motion brought in the first sitting of the Winter Session 2024-2025, held today.

The motion was moved by a member of the opposition bench, Dg. Doymoy Daveng Chakma, under Rule 84 (1) of the CADC (Constitution, Conduct of Business, etc.) Rules, 2002. Of the 18 elected members present and voting — including the Chairman, who normally votes only in the event of a tie — 9 members voted in favour of the motion, while 8 members opposed it. Two elected members were absent in the session.

Following the count of votes, the Chairman declared the removal of the Executive Committee headed by Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma immediately from office. The session was subsequently prorogued.
