Transfer and Posting of CPR and SrSO under CADC

In the interest of public service, the Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai is pleased to order the transfer and posting of the following Group-“A” Officers as specified herein with immediate effect and until further order.

The transfers are scheduled as follows:

  • Shri Bipin Bihari Chakma: Formerly serving as the Senior Revenue & Settlement Officer (Sr. R&SO) within the Land Revenue & Settlement Department, he is hereby posted as the Court President & Recorder under the Law & Judicial Department.
  • Shri Bhanu Dhan Chakma: Formerly serving as the Court President & Recorder (CP&R) within the Law & Judicial Department, he is hereby posted as the Senior Revenue & Settlement Officer under the Land Revenue & Settlement Department.

CADC releases Compilation of Court Records 1972-2025

Kamalanagar, 27th March 2026: The Law & Judicial Department, Chakma Autonomous District Council, organized a program today at Kamalanagar for the formal release of the “Compilation of Court Records from 1972-2025.” The event was presided over by Dg. Bhanu Dhan Chakma, CP&R, who welcomed the officials and public gathered for the occasion. The program began with an opening song by the Art & Culture Department, followed by the felicitation of the invited guests.

Dg. Pronit Bikash Chakma, Executive Secretary, CADC, attended the function as the Chief Guest and officially released the book. During his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of documenting these judicial records for the administrative record-keeping of the Council.

Speaking on the occasion, the Guests of Honour, Dg. Digambar Chakma and Dg. Hriday Chakma, both former CP&R of CADC, shared their perspectives on the legal history of the department. Dg. Digambar Chakma explained the original idea and the necessity behind the compilation of these records, while Dg. Hriday Chakma spoke on the need for changing and updating the Chakma Customary Laws to align with the current needs of the society.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dg. Mrinal Kanti Chakma, J.O., Law & Judicial Department, and a closing song by the Art & Culture Department.

Search cum Selection Committee constituted to empanel advocates for CADC legal cases

The Deputy Commissioner of Lawngtlai has constituted a Search cum Selection Committee for the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC). This committee is tasked with empaneling advocates to represent the CADC’s interests regarding legal cases involving two Border Outposts (BOPs) located at Vaseitlang and Damdep-II.

The committee is responsible for recommending suitable advocates to the General Administration & Control Department. Upon completion of the selection process, the final report must be submitted to the General Administration & Control Department for further necessary action.

Anapana Meditation to be introduced in schools, among other resolutions of CADC

Kamalanagar, the 13th June, 2024: The Executive Committee of the Chakma Autonomous District Council, in its 12th meeting held today took the following resolutions:

1.P/S & MS Education: It was resolved that Annapana meditation shall be introduced in the Primary and Middle Schools within CADC (optional). Teachers interested in taking 10 days Vipassana course may avail leave through the concerned Headmasters on a rotational basis. 10-minutes Anapana meditation shall be conducted at the start of the school. Mizoram Vipassana Meditation Centre, Kamalanagar, shall arrange introductory courses in meditation for all schools within the CADC.

2. Land, Revenue & Settlement Department: It was resolved that the following officials shall be entrusted with the drafting of Land & Revenue Act, 2024:

(i) Executive Member (Revenue) & Law & Judicial Department (ii) Executive Secretary, CADC (iii) Sr. Revenue Officer (iv) Dg. Manabendra Chakma, RSO and (iv) Dg. Uttam Chakma, Judicial Officer.  They have been advised to complete the task before the next Monsoon Session of CADC.

3. General Administration & Control Department: It was resolved that 9 (Nine) staff members of Borapansury Primary Health Centre who were found guilty during the inquiry shall be terminated immediately and the resulting vacant posts shall be filled up till the time the government takes up the PHC.

4. Law & Judicial Department: It was resolved that the compilation of CADC Court records shall be completed within 6 (Six) months by the concerned department. The Customary Law Code Sub Rule 6 of Rule 32 shall also be amended.

5. Sports & Youth Services Department: It was resolved that Cash reward shall be given to individuals from Chakma Autonomous District Council excelling in the field of sports as specified hereunder:

Individual player:

  • State Champion- Rs.50,000.
  • National Champion- Rs.1,00,000.
  • International Champion- Rs.3,00,000.

Team players:

  • State level- Rs.40,000.
  • National level- Rs.75,000.
  • International level- Rs.2,00,000.

Allocation of portfolios to the Executive Members of CADC

In exercise of powers conferred under Rule 30 of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (Constitution, Conduct of Business etc.) Rules, 2002 and as amended from time to time, the Chief Executive Member of Chakma Autonomous District Council is pleased to allocate the portfolios among the members of the Executive Committee of the 11th Chakma Autonomous District Council as shown below with immediate effect.
