Nominated Members of 9th Chakma ADC Sworn-In
Kamalanagar, October 14, 2014:In a notification dated 9.10.2014 of Government of Mizoram, the four nominated Members of the 9th Chakma Autonomous District Council namely Dangu Dhakmoni Tongchangya s/o Bilo Kumar Tongchangya of Vasetlang-I, Pu Lalsangliana s/o Sangleiala of Parva-III, Dangubi Sneha Maya w/o Sadhu Dhan of Borapansury-I and Dangubi Niharmala Chakma d/o Lokkhi Chandra Chakma of Kamalanagar-III have been appointed by the Governor of Mizoram with effect from 26.9.2014.

24th Chakma Mahila Samiti Day Celebrated
Kamalanagar, August 22: The Chakma Mahila Samiti (Chakma Women Association) celebrated its 23 years of its formation today at Art & Culture Hall, CADC.
The CMS was formed in the year 1991 with the objective to address women related issues of the community besides rendering social services. The Samiti takes pride in the contributions it has so far made towards the community and especially with the free medical camps it has been organizing in villages with help from BODHI, an Australia based voluntary organization.
68th Independence Day Celebrated In CADC
Kamalanagar, August 15: Indiaโs 68th Independence Day was celebrated today at Kamalanagar in CADC. Dangu Dr. Buddha Dhan Chakma, Honโble Minister graced the celebration as its chief guest.
The celebration which was organized in the Kamalanagar foot ball playground witnessed the display of routine march past by parade contingents of different schools of the locality. There were presentations of colourful cultural items by students of different schools.
MDC By-election In CADC Boycotted – No Voters Turnout
Kamalanagar, 4 June 2014:The Bye-election to Borapansury-II MDC constituency in Chakma Autonomous District Council scheduled to be held today had no voters turn out. This is was in response to the peaceful boycott of the election called by all the NGOs in protest against the MZP putting up a signboard allegedly claiming a large portion the land (2500 sq. m.) already allotted to Civil Supply Department, Govt. of Mizoram as was stated in the representation of the NGOs.
43RD CADC DAY CELEBRATED
Kamalanagar, 29 April:Chakma Autonomous District Council completed 42 years of existence today since it was created in the year 1972 on 29th April. It was formed under the 6th Schedule to the Constitution of India by trifurcating the then Pwi-Lakher Regional Council into Lai Autonomous District Council, Mara Autonomous District Council and Chakma Autonomous District Council. The purpose of creating the Council has been really served, conferring the minority communities safeguard to protect, preserve and promote their cultural identity.
The Governor Visits Kamalanagar
Kamalanagar, 1 March:His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram Shri Vakkom Purushothaman was in Kamalanagar today. This was his maiden visit to the Chakma Council since he became the Governor of Mizoram in 2011.
Buddha Lila Chakma Sworn in as the Second New CEM of 9th CADC
Kamalanagar, January 22: Dangu Buddha Lila Chakma was sworn-in today as the new Chief Executive Member of Chakma Autonomous District Council. The wait is finally over. CADC has been without a Chief since the outgoing CEM Dangu Dr. Buddha Dhan Chakma had to resign on 7th January after he got elected as MLA, Mizoram in the last General Assembly Election held in November last year.
Baneswar Chakma Passes Away at 84
Kamalanagar, January 11: Dangu Baneswar Chakma, a veteran Chakma leader passed away yesterday at the age of 84 due to old age who has been lying in sick bed for quite a long time after he had a fall last year. He has spent the later part of his life in Nalbonya, a village near Kamalanagar, headquarter of CADC. He is survived by a son and a daughter.
