Kamalanagar, 6 Nov. 2016: The State Election Commission has notified by-election in the village councils of Kurbalobasora, Saizawh (W), Longpuighat-II and Golasury under CADC to be held on 18 November 2016.
The village council of Kurbalovasora and Saizawh βWβ were dissolved on 3/5/2016 and 1/6/2016 respectively following the resignation by some members from their membership. They have 7 and 6 seats respectively.
Longpuighat-II and Golasury have election for 1 seat each only. The seat in Longpuighat-II has fallen vacant due to resignation by one member, while that of Golasury is due to expiry of one member.
The last date of filing nomination and withdrawal is on 4/11/2016 and 8/11/2016 respectively. The counting of votes will take place on the day of poll as soon as the polling gets over. The Executive Body shall have to be formed by 22/11/2016.
