Kamalanagar, 15 October, 2019: Mid-Day Meal Cell, SSA, CADC Area organised a programme today at Kristo Mohan Memorial Comprehensive Middle School to observe the Global Hand Washing Day. Teachers and students from some ten schools from around Kamalanagar town area participated in the programme.
Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, CADC as Chief Guest, Dg. Gana Chandra Chakma, Education Officer, CADC, Dr. H. Thangliana, Medical Officer, Chawngte Community Health Centre and Dg. Prabin Chakma, I&PRO, CADC attended the programme.
CEM speaking on the occasion remarked that the habit of washing hand is not a frivolous issue is understandable from the fact that it is being campaigned globally. He attributed the abnormal increased cases of typhoid among the people of CADC to lack of personal hygiene. He strongly felt about the advantage of maintaining this programme in the schools every year adding that the habit will get introduced to the children at a tender age whose impact will remain throughout their life. He further remarked that developing hygienic habits into a culture of a community is matter of great pride.
Dr. H. Thangliana speaking shared tips on hygienic habits particularly on why, when and how hands be washed and kept clean. A demo was given on the right way of washing hand step by step. He spoke on the benefit of washing hands and how multiple diseases can be prevented by the practice of this simple habit.
