Kamalanagar, 20 October, 2015: Dangu Dayal Chandra Chakma was elected today uncontested as Chairman, Chakma Autonomous District Council. The office of the Chairman was rendered vacant following the resignation tendered by Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya on 21 September 2015. His resignation was accepted on 25 September 2015 by His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram.

In the meant time Dangu Purna Muni Chakma, Deputy Chairman, CADC took over the function of the Chairman. On 29 September 2015 a request was made to His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram to fix the schedule for election of the new Chairman to CADC. 19 October 2015 and 20 October 2015 were notified as date of filling nomination paper and date of election of Chairman to Chakma Autonomous District Council respectively.

Nomination paper was received only from Dangu Dayal Chandra Chakma, MDC. Today, he was declared elected uncontested as Chairman, CADC. He is the 17th Chairman of Chakma Autonomous District Council. It is his second term as Member of District Council.
