Kali Kumar Tongchangya Appointed as New Chief Executive Member, CADC

Kamalanagar, 29 September, 2015: Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya who has resigned from the office of Chairman, Chakma Autonomous District Council on 21/9/2015 has been appointed today as the Chief Executive Member, Chakma Autonomous District Council. This will be his second stint as CEM, CADC.

Dangu Buddhalila Chakma having resigned earlier on the same day from the office of Chief Executive Member, CADC, the office of CEM, CADC was rendered vacant.

Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya was chosen anew the leader of the Congress Legislature Party of CADC on the same day. He staked claim before the Governor, Mizoram on 22/9/2015 to form the new Executive Committee of CADC which was rendered dissolved following the resignation of CEM, CADC Dangu Buddhalila Chakma.

Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya who has been camping at Aizawl since 22/9/2015 will return to Kamalanagar, headquarter of CADC tomorrow. The swearing in ceremony is expected to take place very soon.

This term of the Council, so far has seen three CEMs including Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya within a period of about two and a half year. Dangu Buddhalila Chakma took over as CEM, CADC on 22/1/2014 from Dangu Dr. B. D. Chakma after he choose to fight Mizoram Legislative Assembly election.

Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya earlier today called on His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram Lt. Gen. Nirbhay Sharma to invite him to visit Chakma Council later this year during December. The Governor was very excited to accept the invitation but demanded of the Council to come up with a project for skill development of the youths of CADC. The Governor said he wants to make his visit meaningful. The Governor asked him to make a presentation before him in one month of a plan to develop the skill of his youths. The Governor said the Council cannot provide Government jobs to all its youths and therefore must work to build capacity and skill of its youths to facilitate self-employment.
